The Arosa-Lenzerheide ski area - winter fun in the top ski resort in the Grisons Alps

The Arosa Lenzerheide ski area is one of the most attractive winter sports regions in Switzerland and offers over 200 kilometres of slopes, 43 modern transport facilities, 57 mountain restaurants and numerous sunny descents that are ideal for connoisseurs and families. Beginners benefit from the practice areas and the blue runs on the Hörnli, which offer ideal conditions, while experts are challenged by the black slopes on the Weisshorn side or the legendary Silvano Beltrametti Run in Lenzerheide. Freestylers are drawn to the Tschuggen snow park, which boasts kickers, rails and boxes.

Arosa also has a wide range of off-piste activities on offer: whether it's winter hiking on the panoramic trail, a speedy ride on the 3 km long sledging run from Prätschli to Obersee or a visit to the squirrel trail, where you can get up close with friendly squirrels - there's something for everyone here. Those looking for action can try out night skiing or full moon snowshoeing.

The highlights for families

Families with children in particular benefit from the offers on site. The ski resort is known for its child-friendly infrastructure, short distances and safe practice areas. In the Kinderland Arosa on the Tschuggenwiese, the little ones learn to ski in a playful way - local ski schools also offer courses for all ages and levels. There are separate youth groups for teenagers as well as freestyle workshops in the snow park. A special feature is the Arosa Bear Sanctuary at the middle station of the Weisshorn cable car: here, children can learn more about bears rescued from poor conditions in an interactive way - including an adventure playground, bear trail and viewing platform.

There is also plenty to discover in the village centre of Arosa:

  • The ice rink on the Obersee
  • Pony rides in the snow
  • The daily children's cinema in the sports and congress centre

Many hotels and holiday flats also offer family-friendly or discounted ski passes for children. Thanks to these options, Arosa is not only one of the sunniest, but also one of the most family-friendly ski resorts in Switzerland.

Arosa Lenzerheide - a snow jewel

Powder fans will likely find perfect conditions in Arosa: Numerous powder runs open up around the Hörnli and the Brüggerhorn, offering fantastic descents when there is fresh snow. The northern descent from Hörnlistein is particularly popular, as it is not only technically challenging but also offers impressive scenery. Alternatively, the route through the Carmenna valley offers an intense freeride experience away from the hustle and bustle of the slopes.

And even if you haven't tried it before, you can gain your first experience with a trained guide. You can of course get the appropriate ski touring skis and safety equipment in our INTERSPORT Rent shop on site.

Away from the ski routes, Arosa scores with a variety of winter activities: Several sledging runs, including the over 3 km long run from Prätschli to Obersee, offer tobogganing fun for young and old. Here you can cruise down during the day or with a headlamp by night. For quieter moments, there are over 60 kilometres of winter hiking trails in the snow-covered countryside. These include the popular panoramic trail from Prätschli to Maran with its magnificent views over the valley. If you prefer something more sporty, you can let off steam on the cross-country ski trails in Maran or with curling on the Obersee.
